Harrow vs YMCA Match Report

On Tuesday the 10th October Harrow played YMCA in one of our biggest matches of the season.

Going into the game we were confident in our ability, although that maybe showed too much as we didn’t find the right tempo and we were poor with our passing. This let YMCA straight into the game, and they scored 2 easily avoidable goals inside the first 10 minutes.

From then on we were digging ourselves out of a hole, but we started to pick it up and played out the next 15 minutes very strongly, Tristan Tsang scoring to ensure we weren’t far behind and we went into half time being 2-1 down.

In the second half we really came out firing. We controlled the game much better and played football like we had in previous games this season. An important goal from match captain Xavier Poon kept the wind in our sailes. A few minutes later Xavier Poon scored another crucial goal, this one giving us a 3-2 advantage.

The game was never easy, and silly errors at our end could have cost us the game, although when Kevin Chen made a superb dribble down the left hand side to set up Tristan Tsang’s second goal of the game, we ensured that we won with a rather flattering 4-2 scoreline.

A great result which more or less guarantees us a play off place, our next target certainly being to win our pool with a 100% win ratio!
